We are a Kenyan enterprise technology company building software, data systems and ICT infrastructure for organisations working across East Africa and the Horn of Africa.

Growth Over Year
Of continuous field ICT practice across Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia
Our founder spent those years as an ICT and communications practitioner across Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia, building networks in towns where the nearest service centre is a day’s drive away, deploying systems for humanitarian programmes running simultaneously in two countries and three currencies, and repeatedly watching expensive software fail because it had been designed by people who had never worked without electricity.
The pattern was always the same. A system would be procured in a capital city, demonstrated on a fast connection, and then handed to field teams who could not use it. The data would go back into paper registers and spreadsheets. The organisation would carry the licence cost anyway.
Shalom Global Data Centre exists to break that pattern. We build systems in the environment they are meant to serve, tested against the conditions that actually exist there β intermittent power, absent connectivity, multiple working languages, staff with mixed digital confidence, and donors with non-negotiable reporting formats.
We are not a Nairobi software house that occasionally visits the north. Our reference deployments are in Marsabit, Moyale and Borena Zone. That is the whole difference.
A system that works in Dubluk will work in Nairobi. The reverse is almost never true. We set the constraint at the beginning rather than patching for it at the end.
If your staff cannot complete their work without a connection, you do not have a field system. You have an office system that field staff are expected to tolerate.
A system used by six language communities must be designed for six language communities, in its data model, not just its buttons.
If a system makes your team enter data twice, it has made things worse. Every platform we build outputs into the formats your donors, ministries and boards already require.
Including when the truth is that they do not need what they are asking for, that their budget is unrealistic, or that a cheaper solution already exists. We would rather lose a contract than deliver something that will be abandoned in eighteen months.
We craft with purpose, design with passion, and collaborate with focus. Every detail matters, thatβs the Shalom way.

Shalom Global Data Centre (SGDC) is a technology and data solutions company that builds and supports digital systems, infrastructure, data solutions and communication platforms for organisations operating in African realities.
We combine software, data, ICT infrastructure, analytics and communications to help organisations work smarter and make better decisions.
We work across sectors, including:
Our solutions range from simple ICT services for small organisations to complex enterprise systems for multi-site and multi-country operations.
We understand the environments we build for.
Our experience includes working in places where connectivity is unreliable, power is unstable, teams operate across borders, and organisations have demanding reporting and compliance requirements.
We therefore don't simply ask, "What software do you want?"
We ask:
"What problem are you trying to solve, and what will actually work in your environment?"
No.
Software is one part of what we do.
Our capabilities span:
Software β Data β Infrastructure β Connectivity β Cybersecurity β Analytics β Communications
This means an organisation can work with one partner across several technology needs rather than coordinating multiple vendors.
Yes.
Where an existing product doesn't adequately meet your needs, we develop custom enterprise software to specification.
We work across web, mobile and backend technologies and have particular expertise in offline-first systems for environments where internet connectivity cannot be guaranteed.
Yes β where the use case requires it.
Offline-first architecture is one of our areas of specialisation.
Applications can continue operating without connectivity and synchronise data when a connection becomes available. This is particularly important for field teams, health facilities, pastoralist communities and remote programme locations.
Our product development portfolio includes sector-specific platforms such as:
These are designed around specific operational realities rather than being generic software packages.
Absolutely.
We don't believe every organisation needs to replace everything.
We can help you integrate, improve, migrate or connect existing systems.
This can include platforms such as Microsoft 365, Business Central, QuickBooks, KoBoToolbox, ODK and custom databases.
Where legacy systems or spreadsheets are holding an organisation back, we can also undertake data migration and system modernisation.
Both.
This is an important part of our philosophy.
The same organisation building enterprise systems for multi-country organisations can also help a small business establish its website, email, Wi-Fi, stock system or digital presence.
Digital transformation should not have a KES 2 million entry point.
We have deliberately created services and starter packages that smaller organisations can actually afford.
It starts with a conversation.
Tell us what you are trying to achieve, what is currently not working, or where you are stuck with technology.
We can then assess the problem and recommend the most appropriate approach β whether that means configuring an existing platform, integrating systems, improving your infrastructure, analysing your data, or building something new.
You don't have to know what technology you need before contacting us. That's part of what we're here for.
We take on a limited number of engagements at a time, because we deliver them ourselves rather than subcontracting the difficult parts.
If your organisation is carrying a technology problem that nobody has been able to solve properly, that is the conversation we want to have.
